Philippians 2:2 says, “Than make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.” It’s time for the generations to stop fighting against one other and begin working together. In order for restoration and progression in the Christian Church to take place, we need repentant and submissive hearts from every age group. Age itself shouldn’t be preventing the Body of Christ from uniting together as His army. Like it says in 1 Corinthians 3:13, God hasn’t been chopped up into pieces for us to all have a piece of him. Just as He is One, we are to become One. A vision I got last year was: all the generations of our church were marching as one army in the field behind the ACM church building. Each of us held a sword that was drawn and pointed towards the enemy. Looking further back, I could see the army extending out as more people joined us.
There will be much more work and responsibility coming up for us to do as revival draws nearer. For us to complete those many jobs and tasks, we, as generations, are required to push aside the hurt, resentment, bitterness and offense that has separated us and come together as the army of Christ. When one of your friends or family members has hurt you in some way, don’t go out and tell everyone. Just as Christ did and continues to do, you choose to forgive them, pray blessing over them and love on them. It says in Colossians 3:14, “Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.” If we get upset with a parent or leader in the church and don’t agree with something they’ve said or action they’ve taken, we need to remember that they are human and make mistakes just like us. God put them in leadership over us and has commanded us to love them, honor them and submit to their authority.
