In Malachi 1:6 it says, “A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am the Father, where is my honor? And if I am a Master, where is my reverence.”
Our world today is seeing the result of dishonoring our God by leaving Him out of the picture. The worldwide statistics for crime and immoral acts committed in 2010 are: 5,728,612 abortions, 197,333 murders, 2,778,341 robberies, 329,708 rapes, and 12 per 100,000 suicides. While statistics of crime are rising higher, biblical foundations that have shaped both the countries of Canada and the U.S. are being pulled out.
As God’s children, we have been called to rule in His kingdom as kings and priests. However, in order for us to walk out His calling on our lives we must continually honour Him in obedience to His written and spoken Word. It says in 1 Samuel 2:30, “…them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.” “Honor is a foundational stone of everything in God’s Kingdom.”(Dr. Mike Brown) In the eyes of the Almighty God, honor is not a careless thing; it isn’t optional either. Our Lord deserves, expects, and demands it from us all.
